Privacy Policy

How HGM collects, uses, shares, and retains information.

First-party site analytics

HGM uses its own analytics to understand which public pages and tools help consumers. A random browser identifier expires after 30 days; a visit identifier expires after 30 minutes of inactivity and is stored per tab. These are estimates of browsers and visits, not identified people. We honor browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Clearing browser storage resets these identifiers.

Analytics stores public page paths, broad device categories, referral hostnames, sanitized campaign labels, approximate state/country when supplied by our hosting provider, and tool events for up to 180 days. It does not store names, email addresses, phone numbers, search terms, private move or quote links, full referrer URLs, or IP addresses in analytics. Geographic reports hide states with fewer than five measured browsers. Owner access is required. No advertising trackers are added.

Information collected

HGM may collect contact details, move details, inventory and access information, review submissions, documents you choose to provide, payment confirmation from the checkout provider, device data, and site usage information.

Free company checks

For the free Quick Quote Check, the application processes an optional PDF in memory to extract company-identification information. It does not intentionally save the PDF, add it to the paid Quote Review archive, or email the free result. Extracted details and results appear in your browser. Company names and identifiers used for federal lookup are sent to the federal source; the PDF itself is not sent to that source. Hosting infrastructure may process request data outside the application's control.

Before uploading, you may redact your name, addresses, and other personal information that is unnecessary for the requested check. Keep company names and identifiers readable. Request-abuse controls use hashed client identifiers and request counters, separate from optional site analytics; these controls do not store document contents or filenames.

Quote Review documents and retention

Paid-review intake documents are stored in HGM's Cloudflare object storage, with intake and order records in its database. Stripe handles checkout, and Resend handles service emails containing private intake or order links. If you enter move ZIP codes, they are sent to Zippopotam.us to validate city and state; that lookup does not send your documents or contact details. Operational order records, including contact details and private order links, may also be copied through the configured spreadsheet integration. Quote Review documents are not sent to movers through the connection program. Anyone with a private document-access link may be able to view the associated information, so do not forward it.

Access to unpaid intakes expires after seven days. Expired unpaid files become eligible for cleanup when new submissions arrive; deletion may occur later. For completed paid reviews, website document access expires after 90 days. Completed-review files may be backed up to the private Google Drive archive. Website copies become eligible for removal after 90 days only after backup verification, and archive copies become eligible for removal 12 months after completion. Holds, failed verification, and orders that remain active or are closed without completion can delay cleanup and require manual review. Access expiry is not confirmation that every copy or associated record has been deleted.

For a paid review, remove bank, card, Social Security, and government ID numbers. You may also redact unnecessary names or addresses where doing so will not prevent the review; keep the estimate terms, inventory, company details, and information needed to understand the requested service readable. Contact privacy@haveagoodmove.com for deletion requests. Deletion review must cover website files, archive copies, and associated operational records; removing a website file alone does not remove a previously archived copy.

How information is used

Information is used to deliver requested tools and services, verify reviews, moderate content, communicate about requests, prevent abuse, improve the site, comply with law, and—only with separate affirmative consent—support interstate mover information requests.

Sharing and choices

HGM does not sell ratings or let movers purchase review removal. Sharing contact or move information with participating interstate movers requires separate affirmative consent.

For interstate connection requests, HGM requires separate affirmative consent, identify or clearly describe intended recipients, preserve consent records, and provide applicable privacy choices. Contact privacy@haveagoodmove.com to request access, correction, deletion, or withdrawal of consent, subject to legal and operational retention needs.
