Medalist Moving Services: Full HGM research

Research reviewed October 7, 2026. Records and terms can change.

Federal records, operating arrangements, consumer evidence and source limitations behind HGM’s overview. Use the short company profile for the key booking considerations.

Research context and what to verify

Use the dated federal record and your own documents to identify each company’s role. Consumer accounts describe reported experiences, not how often an outcome occurs.

Federal identity and authority

Safeshield Moving Services LLC, DBA Medalist Moving Services, is USDOT 4470034 / MC-1764069. The usable SAFER snapshot is dated September 14, 2026: broker entity type, active USDOT account, no out-of-service date, Broker of Household Goods authority and zero reported power units. This supports broker-only interstate authority as of September 14, not motor-carrier authority. Zero reported vehicles is context, not evidence of misconduct.

An October 7 retrieval attempt at the standard USDOT query did not produce a newer usable record; the equivalent leading-zero query still returned September 14 data. HGM therefore retains September 14 as the federal status date and does not assert independently verified October 7 authority. Check the current federal record before booking.

Medalist’s website discloses interstate transportation arranged through separately assigned carriers. This review did not establish Florida intrastate registration or the legal company that supplied trucks and crews for the local jobs in reviews. Federal interstate broker authority does not establish local operating status.

Review evidence and dated accounts

Conservative retained sample: approximately 12 apparently distinct narratives: eight selected BBB reviews, three MyMovingJourney accounts and one BBB complaint. These are not twelve independently authenticated transactions.

Dates: Favorable/mixed reviews September 17–24, 2026; complaint filed August 5 about July pickup arrangements, with responses through August 28.

Important anchors:

  • BBB: Mohammed Q, September 22; Jurat M and Janet O, September 21; William J, September 20; Eric S and Angela D, September 19; Melvin L, September 18; Oktawian P, September 17.
  • MyMovingJourney: Paul Mills and Ernest Fontaine, September 24; Julie Scott, September 23.
  • BBB complaint: August 5, with carrier identified by the complainant as Loadrans. Better Business Bureau

Duplicates and quality screening:

  • BBB’s Susan K and Derek H entries contain identical narrative text. Excluded both from the retained subset.
  • MyMovingJourney repeats truncated and expanded text within entries; counted each narrative once.
  • No additional obvious cross-platform match was established. Different names do not authenticate separate transactions.
  • Review text and directory metadata contain inconsistencies; directory service descriptions and advertised verification labels were not accepted as independent proof.

Resolution and pricing context: In the complaint, the customer explicitly added inventory before the revised quote. Do not characterize the increase as unexplained. Medalist acknowledged a carrier equipment problem and reported issuing a $1,951 refund on July 27; the customer rejected the response and sought more. BBB lists the matter as Answered, not customer-confirmed resolved. Better Business Bureau

Attribution: Physical-work praise does not establish Medalist employment. Scheduling, cancellation communications and the refund response concern Medalist-side conduct; alleged truck problems concern the named carrier.

Reported favorable experiences

  • Efficient, courteous crews and protective handling in reviews posted under Medalist’s name.
  • Quoted-price satisfaction in individual accounts.

These are moving-experience reports with unresolved performer attribution, not verified evidence of Medalist’s own crews. No substantial independent broker-specific favorable theme was established. Better Business Bureau

Reported concerns

  • One interstate complaint about pickup coordination and cancellation/refund terms.
  • One local account questioning whether travel time was chargeable.

Neither supports a broad complaint pattern. The retained physical-work evidence does not establish a damage/loss theme attributable to Medalist. Better Business Bureau

Attribution, resolutions and evidence limits

Physical-work praise posted under Medalist’s name does not establish that the crews were Medalist employees. Local performer identity and Florida operating status remain unverified. Scheduling, cancellation communications and the refund response concern Medalist-side conduct; the complaint’s truck allegations concern the carrier identified by the customer as Loadrans.

The customer explicitly added inventory before the revised quote. That change is not described as an unexplained increase. Medalist acknowledged a carrier equipment problem and reported issuing a $1,951 refund on July 27. The customer rejected the response and sought more. BBB’s “Answered” status does not establish customer-confirmed resolution.

BBB’s Susan K and Derek H entries contain identical text; both were excluded. Truncated and expanded MyMovingJourney text counted once per narrative. Different reviewer names do not authenticate distinct transactions. Directory metadata inconsistencies, average prices, “no deposit,” review-verification labels and claims about Medalist’s own crews were not accepted as independently established facts.

The one interstate complaint and one local travel-time disagreement do not establish broad damage, cancellation or deception patterns. No substantial independent broker-specific favorable theme was established. MyGoodMovers was inaccessible for substantive review; its totals were not used. Similarly named Medalist Moving Group is not merged into this profile.

Review methodology

HGM’s October 7, 2026 review uses the selected substantive narratives and dated anchors described above. Approximate sample counts describe inspected accounts, not platform totals, authenticated transactions or representative customer samples. Reviews are accounts or allegations, not verified events; company replies are attributed statements. No national rating, pooled agent score, complaint rate or frequency claim is inferred.

Repeated excerpts, obvious duplicates and identifiable wrong-company accounts were excluded. Syndicated Google accounts counted once. Redacted names and missing move details limit cross-platform matching; undetected duplicates remain possible. Publication, complaint-filing, update and experience dates are distinguished where known. Contracts and full claim records were not independently authenticated. Sources may change.

Retained operational and historical context

The following material is retained from the earlier HGM profile. Earlier dates and evidence limitations remain attached to that material; the dated federal and review sections above provide the current update. Terms may change.

Earlier operational context

Medalist Moving Services is a moving-services brand associated in public federal records with Safeshield Moving Services LLC. The company website markets long-distance relocation coordination.

The federal record identifies the entity as a broker. A broker generally arranges transportation with a separate motor carrier, so the company named on the estimate may not be the company that physically performs the move.

Company-advertised services

Availability and inclusion depend on the written agreement and assigned service provider.

  • Long-distance move coordination
  • Residential moving coordination
  • Packing-service coordination
  • Storage coordination

Earlier booking checks

  • Match the name on your paperwork. Medalist Moving Services is the brand; Safeshield Moving Services LLC is the legal name tied to USDOT 4470034. Compare both names and MC 1764069 with your estimate.
  • Ask who will perform the move. The federal record identifies Medalist as a broker. Request the assigned carrier's legal name and USDOT number before pickup, and confirm who handles delivery and claims.
  • Check the inventory and delivery window. Have Medalist confirm your item list, packing needs, access charges, and the written pickup and delivery terms before you sign or pay a deposit.
  • Legal broker name and USDOT/MC numbers
  • Assigned carrier name and USDOT number
  • Current broker and carrier authority in FMCSA Motus
  • Complete written inventory
  • Estimate type and price-change rules
  • Deposit and cancellation terms
  • Pickup and delivery windows
  • Valuation and claims responsibility

Earlier review context

The September 29 assessment below predates the dated October 7 evidence above. It is retained as historical context; the updated overview now reports qualified themes without attributing physical work to Medalist employees.

HGM is not presenting review themes for Medalist at this time. The public review evidence HGM reviewed is limited, and some reviews describe local moves without identifying the company that actually performed the transportation.

Medalist is publicly identified as a broker rather than a carrier, so HGM cannot reliably attribute those crew, handling, pickup, or delivery experiences to Medalist itself. This limits what HGM can conclude and is not a finding about service quality.

Before booking, confirm the broker’s identity, the company that will actually perform the move, and the written pricing and cancellation terms.

Evidence reviewed September 29, 2026.

Medalist Moving Services is the DBA of Safeshield Moving Services LLC, USDOT 4470034. The retained BBB reference links medalistmoving.com and the same brand phone number. The source review does not establish which servicing mover performed the local moves described.
