New Start Relocation: Full HGM research

Research reviewed October 8, 2026. Records and terms can change.

Federal records, operating arrangements, consumer accounts and source limitations behind the short company profile.

Research context and what to verify

Match your documents to the federal entity and identify the company performing the move. Selected accounts describe experiences, not how often an outcome occurs.

Federal identity and operating structure

The federal record identifies Eagle Moving Group Inc., DBA New Start Relocation, USDOT 3545015, MC 1185070. It displays household-goods and non-household-goods property broker authority, with no motor-carrier authority.

New Start’s website also discloses that it arranges interstate transportation through another FMCSA-authorized carrier rather than transporting the shipment itself. Sales, estimating, deposits and coordination can concern New Start; packing, hauling and delivery require servicing-carrier attribution. safer.fmcsa.dot.gov

One BBB response asserts both broker and carrier status. That statement conflicts with the retrieved record for this USDOT and the website disclosure; it is not sufficient to classify this entity as a carrier.

Federal recheck: October 8, 2026. The retrieved SAFER snapshot displays data as of October 6, 2026, active USDOT status and no out-of-service date. Displayed authority is household-goods and other-property brokerage, with no motor-carrier authority. Authority establishes permitted roles, not who performed a particular reviewed move. Verify current records before booking.

Review evidence and dated accounts

Conservative usable estimate: approximately 12–13 apparently distinct accounts, comprising five selected ConsumerAffairs narratives, three BBB reviews and five BBB complaint threads.

Publication range: May 5–September 18, 2026. Some underlying moves occurred earlier.

  • ConsumerAffairs: Aaron, August 25; Ivan, August 29; Deiby, August 21; Isaovic, September 17; Jacqueline, September 18
  • BBB reviews: Lauren D, July 8; Steven O, July 11; Rochelle S, July 24
  • BBB complaints: May 5; June 8; two separate June 30 threads; July 29

These include booking/communication praise, pricing and coordination disputes, and physical-service accounts whose carrier employer is not established. consumeraffairs.com

Duplicates and screening:

  • Deiby’s August 21 BBB and ConsumerAffairs accounts describe the same estimate, deposit and experience; counted once.
  • Repeated company responses within a complaint are not additional accounts.
  • Excluded generic promotional descriptions and accounts too vague to support a substantive theme.
  • Redacted identities prevent complete cross-platform matching.

Resolution updates: Customer-confirmed satisfactory outcomes appear in the May 5 and June 8 complaints. A June 30 customer confirms delivery and resolution on July 8. The July 29 thread records a partial refund but continued disagreement—not a confirmed full settlement.

Attribution: Preserve Best Price Moving as the carrier named in one June 30 account. Other physical-service reports do not establish New Start employees performed the work.

Reported favorable experiences

  • Helpful booking explanations and clear communication in individual accounts.
  • Positive moving-crew experiences, with employer attribution unresolved.
  • Customer-confirmed resolutions in selected complaint threads. consumeraffairs.com

Reported concerns and attribution

  • Differences between quoted inventory/space and the carrier’s pickup assessment.
  • Additional charges and disagreement about delivery-access costs.
  • Difficulty obtaining updates or support after booking.
  • Cancellation and deposit-refund disputes. consumeraffairs.com

Physical damage and delivery allegations belong in the research page with carrier attribution, rather than being labeled New Start crew performance.

Refund terms and policy context

The company’s published refund page requires written notice within 72 hours, referring to the bill of lading for interstate moves and the estimate for intrastate moves. It states that deposits are non-refundable when the first pickup is within seven business days. It also describes later cancellation credit, pickup-refusal forfeiture and credit-card refund processing by the next billing statement.

Seven business days is a pickup-timing condition, not a general refund-payment deadline. These are company-published terms, not HGM’s determination of enforceability. Confirm how the signed documents apply to your booking.

FMCSA describes a $75,000 BMC-84 surety bond or BMC-85 trust requirement for brokers. This research did not verify New Start’s specific current filing, provider or pending cancellation. The general requirement is not proof of a company-specific BMC-84 filing.

BBB totals varied between retrieved versions. No numerical complaint total or complaint rate is presented.

Evidence limitations and resolution context

The identity, displayed broker-only authority and company role disclosure are well supported by the identified records. Qualified estimating, support and refund themes have a narrower selected-account basis. Crew employment, national consistency and company-specific bond details remain unverified.

A business response claiming carrier status does not override this USDOT’s federal record. Physical-service accounts are not attributed to New Start employees. The evidence does not establish intentional underquoting as fact, guaranteed refunds or a universal complaint count.

Review methodology

Review evidence was researched October 7, 2026; federal snapshots were independently rechecked October 8 and still displayed October 6 data. Approximate sample estimates count selected substantive narratives inspected, not platform totals or independently authenticated transactions. Repeated excerpts, identifiable cross-posts and updates to the same account counted once. Redacted identities prevent complete duplicate matching. Allegations and company responses remain separately attributed. No rating, complaint rate or frequency estimate was calculated. Sources may change.

Additional service and booking context

The earlier profile describes the following advertised services. Availability, the performing company and included work depend on your written agreement.

  • Long-distance move coordination
  • Residential moving coordination
  • Packing-service coordination
  • Storage coordination

Additional paperwork checks:

  • Legal broker name and USDOT/MC numbers
  • Assigned carrier name and USDOT number
  • Current broker and carrier authority in FMCSA Motus
  • Complete written inventory
